The term “processing” refers to any handling of personal data, regardless of the means and processes used, including acquisition, storage, retention, use, modification, disclosure, archiving, deletion, or destruction of data (Art. 5 lit. d DPA).

However, the processing of particularly sensitive personal data under Art. 5 lit. c DPA or high-risk profiling under Art. 5 lit. f DPA will only occur if we have obtained your consent (Art. 6 VII DPA).

We may use data processors to handle your personal data, but we will not disclose personal data to third parties beyond this.

Your personal data will be processed exclusively in Switzerland or in countries that guarantee adequate data protection under Art. 8 I in conjunction with Annex 1 of the Data Protection Regulation, unless otherwise stated below.

1.3 Usage Data

When visiting the website, general technical information is collected. This includes the IP address used, time and duration of the visit, browser type, and, if applicable, the referring page. For technical reasons, this usage data is recorded in a log file and may be used and stored for statistical evaluation of the website. This usage data is not linked to other personal data of the user.

2.1 Right to Information

You may request information about the processing of your personal data. In such cases, you have the right to be informed about this data and other details under Art. 25 II DPA, unless the right to information is restricted under Art. 26 or Art. 27 DPA.

This information is generally free of charge, although the Federal Council may provide exceptions, e.g., if the effort is disproportionate (Art. 25 VI DPA).

2.2 Right to Rectification

Under Art. 32 I DPA, you have the right to correct inaccurate personal data concerning you, provided there is no legal provision to the contrary or the data is not processed for public interest archiving purposes.

2.3 Right to Object

Under Art. 30 para. 2 lit. b DPA, you have the right to object to data processing and request its cessation or deletion, unless there are overriding reasons under Art. 31 DPA.

2.4 Right to Legal Action for Personality Protection

Under Articles 28, 28a, and 28g–28l of the Civil Code, you may request that:

• Certain data processing be prohibited;
• Specific disclosure of personal data to third parties be prohibited;
• Personal data be deleted or destroyed.

If the accuracy of the personal data cannot be determined, you have the right to obtain a note of refusal.

2.5 Right to Data Portability

Under Art. 28 DPA, you have the right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a commonly used format and to have it transmitted to another data controller, provided the processing is based on consent or a contract, is carried out by automated means, and your right to data disclosure or transfer is not restricted under Art. 29 I in conjunction with Art. 26 DPA.

2.6 Right to Withdraw Consent

Where the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent, provided there are no restrictions on such withdrawal.

2.7 General and Right to Lodge a Complaint

Exercising the above rights is generally free of charge. Under Art. 49 DPA, you have the right to contact the competent supervisory authority, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in case of complaints.
